2010 BIG MONEY FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPION IS.......

...........RODnROLN!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to the 3rd year team out of Sparks/Hunt Valley.  These Co-Owners drafted & strategized their way to their first league championship.

Also, lets give Team Premier a big congratulations for the season Mike had.  The second half of the season saw Mike go on a big run to the championship game & had pretty much everyone thinking his Mike Vick pick-up was going to carry him to the title.  Unfortunately the Minnesota Vikings Defense chose to actually show up for a game & shut down Vick & McCoy costing Mike the championship.  But Congrats are in order.

Stay tuned for some League updates, next years draft order, & season re-cap.

LEAGUE RULES

There has been a lot of confusion & uproar the last 24 hours due to some changes I made to two rules.  I would like to clarify some things about those changes to make sure everyone in the league understands why the changes were made & what the final outcome will be.  Please read below regarding these two changes:

WEEK 11 PREVIEW

Last week saw a couple of close calls, big wins, & debilitating losses.  In the MILLER LITE DIVISION there is basically a 3 way tie for the top spot.  With Fist Pumpers winning & both Big Money Eagles & Bulldogs taking losses, all three teams are sitting at 6-4.  In the BUD LIGHT DIVISION we have a "Rags to Riches" type story going on with Just Bring It.  They've moved from the bottom of the division on a 4 game win streak to the top w/ a 6-4 record while every other team in the division is currently 1 or 2 games out of first place.  3 weeks remain in the regular season and all teams are still mathematically eligible for a playoff spot.  Unfortunately for the following 3 teams in the RED ZONE, a loss this week will pretty much knock them out of the playoff picture & in effect put them in the "Spoiler" role:

#8 PRESTIGE WORLWIDE (4-6) & 1,164.50 "POINTS FOR"
#9 TRAILER TRASH (4-6) & 1,061 "POINTS FOR"
#10 PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (3-7) & 1,092 "POINTS FOR"

So without further ado, here is the Week 11 Preview:

***IMPORTANT LEAGUE SETTINGS CHANGES***

I have made two big changes to the League Settings.

1)  MAXIMUM # OF MOVES ALLOWED HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM 30 TO UNLIMITED.  BUT ANY MOVES OVER THE 30 LIMIT WILL COST $1 PER MOVE.  ***(ADD & DROPS ARE TWO SEPARATE MOVES)***

2)  TRADE DEADLINE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO NOVEMBER 26TH @11:59PM.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

****TRADE DEADLINE****

THE TRADE DEADLINE FOR THE LEAGUE IS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19TH @ 11:59PM!

WEEK 10 PREVIEW

2/3rds of the Season have gone by & no one is Mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs.  The Bud Light Division is wide open w/ everyone separated by only 1 game.  In the Miller Lite Division, Big Money Eagles & Bulldogs are starting to pull away & look like the class of the division.  Fist Pumpers aren't that far back, trailing by only 1 game.  The Bud Light Division has 3 teams @ 4-5 in the YELLOW ZONE just on the cusp of the RED ZONE:

#6 PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE (4-5) - POINTS FOR 1038
#7 TEAM PREMIER (4-5) - POINTS FOR 1007.50
#8 COWTOWN RODEO QUEEN (4-5) - POINTS FOR 979.50

The Miller Lite Division currently has the only two teams in the league who are currently in the dreaded RED ZONE but not Mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs yet.  But another loss could end their chances:

#9 PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (3-6) - POINTS FOR 1000.50
#10 TRAILER TRASH (3-6) - POINTS FOR 931

So without further ado, here is the Week 10 Preview:

WEEK 8 PREVIEW

Week8Preview+copy.jpg

Here we are.  The midpoint of the season.  Its not Do or Die yet, but the following teams are in the RED ZONE of missing the playoffs & in need of a good win streak to help secure a place in the playoffs:

Prestige Worldwide (3-4) #5
Team Premier (3-4) #6
RodnRoln (3-4) #7
Trailer Trash (3-4) #8
Just Bring It (3-4) #9
**PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (2-5) #10**

Here is a preview of this weeks games:

MID-WAY REPORT

We are now mid-way through the league year & we have a lot of competitive football going on.  Every team is still Mathmatically eligible for the post season, especially in the BUD LIGHT DIVISION where every team is seperated by 1 game!  Check out some other tidbits!!!!

Gotta love the Mannings....

WEEK 3: PREVIEW

After 2 weeks of Fantasy Football, we've seen some interesting things.  Alot of High Profile players have underwhelmed & some sleepers have overwhelmed.  We have two teams currently undefeated, Cowtown Rodeo Queen & Bulldogs; two teams winless, Fist Pumpers & defending champ Just Bring It; & the 8 remaining teams all @ 1-1.  Here is a preview of Week 3 in the Big Money Football Fantasy League:

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

WEEK 2: PREVIEW

After a highly anticipated wait, Football finally arrived.  So did the start of Fantasy Football!  We saw some good highly rated teams lose, & some surprise winners.  And along with football comes the injuries.  Most notably "The Bulldogs" starting running back Ryan Grant being lost for the season.  So after one week, some injuries & free agent pick-ups, here is a preview of Week 2 in the Big Money Football Fantasy League:

**VERY IMPORTANT KEEPER RULES UPDATE**

*The update is in Bold & Underlined*

JUST BRING IT

Drafting 10th is last years Champion, Vinnie "Vincenzo" Javier!  Vincenzo has pretty much dominated the Big Money Football League since his arrival in 2008.  He took 3rd place in 2008 & won it all in 2009.  Which by the way is a little bit of a shocker due to the fact that he always tells me how bad he does in his other league which he has been doing for a longer period of time!  Maybe he is just conning us.  But none the less, he has been getting it done in our league.  Below are the available "Keepers" & the round they would need to be drafted in this year:

         PLAYER                                                          DRAFT ROUND

Tony Romo (QB-DAL)                                                      2nd

Shonn Greene (RB-NYJ)                                                 12th
Jerome Harrison (RB-CLE)                                            15th (FA)
Chris Jennings (RB-CLE)                                                15th (FA)

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS

Drafting 9th is Henry Marucut.  Henry is a Fantasy Football Veteran, & is in his 5th year of the Big Money Football League.  He was Champion in 2005, 3rd in 2007, 4th in 2008, & runner-up in 2009.  As you can tell, he has been on a pretty good run the last couple of years!  Let's just hope mortgage rates stay the same, or better yet go lower, so he will be to busy with work to pay any attention to the league!  Below are the available "Keepers" & the round they would need to be drafted in this year:

       PLAYER                                                             DRAFT ROUND

Wes Welker (WR-NE)                                                       2nd

RODnROLN

Drafting 8th is Roland Naraval.  Roland is starting to become a Fantasy Football Veteran.  He has also had the biggest turn-around in our league since he started playing in 2007.  He went from 8th in 2007 to 9th in 2008 to 3rd in 2009!  He has definitely caught "Fantasy Football Fever"!  Lets just hope Maria lets him come to the draft on Tuesday even though it is "Back To School Night" for Olivia & Isla.......haha.  Below are the available "Keepers" & the round they would need to be drafted in this year:

         PLAYER                                                      DRAFT ROUND

COWTOWN RODEO QUEEN

Drafting 7th is Janette Rubino.  Janette is a Fantasy Football & Big Money Football League veteran.  Don't let the fact that she's a girl fool you into thinking she doesn't know what she's doing.  This girl knows more about football than most guys I know.  Her one weakness though is Laurence Maroney.  She always picks him for her team & he alsways lets her down....haha.  Below are the available "Keepers" & the round they would need to be drafted in this year:

          PLAYER                                                DRAFT ROUND

Jason Witten (TE-DAL)                                            3rd

KEEPER LEAGUE - PROPOSED RULES (MUST READ)

Below are proposed Keeper League rules for our league. Take a look before our Draft Tuesday, September 7th if you can. I will have copies for everyone at the Draft.

PROPOSED KEEPER LEAGUE RULES

EACH TEAM CAN KEEP FROM 0-2 PLAYERS FROM THEIR PREVIOUS END-OF-SEASON ROSTER – Depending on what players are left on your team at the end of the previous season, you may wish to “keep” none of your players.

PLAYERS DRAFTED IN THE FIRST 3 ROUNDS OF A DRAFT CAN NOT BE KEPT IN THE FOLLOWING SEASON – This prevents the top tier of players from being kept and creating massively unfair teams.

A PLAYER CAN ONLY BE KEPT A MAXIMUM OF 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS – This rule is there just to keep things interesting.  **Last year counts as the first year keeping a player**

FOR EACH PLAYER THAT IS KEPT (AND WAS ORIGINALLY DRAFTED BY ANY TEAM), THAT MANAGER MUST GIVE UP A DRAFT PICK 2 PICKS HIGHER THAN WHERE THE PLAYER WAS INITIALLY DRAFTED THE YEAR BEFORE – This ensures that players that improve in talent each season are accounted for. If Frank Gore was drafted in the 13th round last year, you probably don’t want him counting for a team’s 13th pick for the next 3 years. [Example: Quarterback Joe Flacco was drafted in the 16th round last year. If kept, this year he would account for the teams 14th round pick. If kept again, the following year he would be considered the 12th round pick.  If this wasn't a Keeper League, Joe Flacco would probably be picked somewhere between rounds 4 & 6 this year.]

ANY PLAYER THAT WENT UNDRAFTED THE PREVIOUS YEAR, BUT IS BEING KEPT, WILL COUNT AS A TEAM’S 2ND TO LAST DRAFT PICK – This rule is there to slightly reward good drafting, as keeping free agent pickups are a little pricier than last round draft picks. [Example: If LeSean McCoy was picked up off free agency last season by a team, & the league has 16 rounds in its draft, and the manager wishes to keep McCoy, he must give up his 15th round pick the following season.]
